CERRIE was an independent Committee established by the UK Government in 2001, following concerns about the risks of internal radiation. The Committee operated between October 2001 and October 2004.

Although the Committee was set up and sponsored by two UK Government departments, DEFRA (Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) and DH (Department of Health), it operated completely independently of them. Its Final Report was not vetted by any Government agency.

Papers Considered by the CERRIE Committee

December 2001 to June 2004

The following CERRIE working papers, information notes and published research articles were considered by the Committee at their meetings. The working papers and notes were prepared by members of the Committee and the Secretariat for the Committee's discussions. Most of the information and scientific material considered by Committee members during their meetings are presented in these papers. The articles prefaced by "Paper" were directly considered by the Committee. Those prefaced by "INFO" were presented to the Committee for information.

These papers are placed on the CERRIE website in order to render the workings of the Committee transparent and to inform the public of the wide range of issues considered by the Committee.

CAUTION
Apart from published articles, the papers listed below should not be seen as equivalent to published articles in peer-reviewed scientific literature and should not be cited as such.
